Biography
Symon Welfringer, born in 1994, is a prominent French alpinist and member of the Team Vibram. His career began in competitive sport climbing and evolved into a more exploratory and adventurous approach to the mountains. After earning a degree in Earth Sciences from the School of Meteorological Engineering, Symon chose to fully dedicate himself to mountaineering, becoming a mountain guide and a member of the French Alpinism Team.
His passion has led him to excel in various disciplines, from rock climbing to ice climbing. He has achieved outstanding levels, climbing routes up to 9a and excelling also in trad climbing and alpinism, opening new routes on virgin walls.
Symon Welfringer embraces the mountains in all their forms, with a clean and sustainable style. During his expeditions, he pays great attention to respecting the environment. His epic approaches—often undertaken by kayak or bicycle for hundreds of kilometers—are an integral part of his adventures and testify to his spirit of authentic exploration.
