Hasetsune, one of Japan's most legendary ultratrails.
Set in the mountains west of Tokyo, Hasetsune is one of Japan's most iconic and demanding ultratrail races. Covering 71.5 kilometres through rugged terrain, runners face the challenge alone, through the night, with minimal aid and no outside support.
Hasetsune: Between the Earth and You follows two runners, 33-year-old Yuko and 88-year-old Tsukioka, as they take on this legendary race. Their stories reveal that true strength is not defined by age or performance, but by the determination to keep moving forward when the path ahead is uncertain.
Against the backdrop of Japan's deep connection with the mountains, the film explores resilience, solitude and the confidence that emerges when we challenge our limits.
