With VIBRAM® Idrogrip slip resistance is achieved by outperforming on dry and wet surfaces.
The feedback on wet is to wear adhesive shoes, this will enhance safe walking and running on wet rocks.
This compound is perfect for technical approach and easy climbing (4° UIAA), too.
Its superior performance on wet and dry rocks makes it perfect for difficult trekking trails, where overall super performance is required.

By designing soles with a lot of surface contact it can manage every condition, hot or cold, showing a well balanced utilization.

Developed to grant the best grip on very cold, iced, or snowy surfaces, VIBRAM® Icetrek allows you to move, work, and live safely on mountains and in cold areas. VIBRAM® Icetrek rubber sole does not scratch or ruin interior floors or absorb humidity and dirt, yet it grips onto northern iced sidewalks.
The softness allows the compound to adhere to smooth surfaces and to support aggressive draws in order to improve the traction.
Small pointed lugs and a large supporting surface make VIBRAM® Icetrek soles useful to move faster on all kinds of iced surfaces.

VIBRAM® Megagrip offers excellent grip properties on both dry and wet terrains while maintaining a high level of durability.

VIBRAM® Mont compound formulation is optimized for mountaineering, trekking, acrobatic works, and motorbike racing. Mont is used to conquer the highest peak all over the world.

It has been studied for high lug soles and offers the highest reliability on the most difficult ground at low temperatures.
Its high hardness value is a key factor when crampons are used on snowy and icy terrain.
It is widely used on motorbike soles due to its extreme durability.

VIBRAM® XS Trek is Vibram technical trekking compound that represents the world wide reference for this segment both for performance and durability.

The grip is exactly what is needed from difficult trekking to multisport. Coupled with big lug sole design, it is possible to enhance traction and grip on demand. When used in at a low thickness, the feedback is communicative. The information about grip and geometry of terrain prevents slipping and tripping. Different hardness’s are available for this family of compounds to obtain a better compromise between performance and comfort.

VIBRAM® XS Trek works in best combination with shock absorbing materials that enhance cushioning.

Traction and Sensitiveness

VIBRAM® Multitrek is a family of technical compounds that allow great overall performance for multisport, outdoor, mountain bike, snow sports, and water sports.
Its principal characteristics are flexibility and wet traction.
The “non marking” version allows the compound to be used for indoor and nautical sports.
A wide range of possible designs give customers the freedom to optimize the performance of the sole with respect to the specific application.

Flame and heat resistant, durable at high temperatures

VIBRAM® Flame is a specific compound for work and safety soles with improved flame resistance that meets the EN 15090 and NFPA standards. While maintaining Vibram high standards for performance in grip and durability, it satisfies all ISO standards for protective outsoles: tear strength resistance, oil resistance, hot contact resistance, and flexing resistance.

VIBRAM® Flame is recommended for fire fighting (especially wild land fire fighting), industrial applications (such as asphalt paving) and any related activities where heat and/or flame resistance are essential.

VIBRAM® OR is a Vibram specific compound for work and safety soles.
While maintaining Vibram’s high level of performance in grip and durability, the compound satisfies all ISO standards for protective outsoles: tear strength resistance, oil resistance, hot contact resistance, and flexing resistance.
The design of the sole meets the slip resistance requirements of ISO13287.

Vibram® Superwork is the newest Vibram rubber compound for work and safety soles that meets the requirements of ISO 20345 and similar PPE standards.

Being both antistatic and oil resistant, as a colourable and a non-marking compound, Vibram® Superwork sets up new standards in safety rubber compounds:

  • With its superior abrasion (<100 mm3), it offers improved durability as it far exceeds the abrasion requirements of ISO 20345 and similar PPE standards.
  • With a tear strength value 50% higher than those required (>12 kg/cm Vs 8 Kg/cm), it is truly a performance compound.

Vibram® Superwork is also available in both Electric Shock Resistant (ESR) and with Electric Shock Dissipative (ESD) versions and meets the requirements of EN 15090 flame resistant standards.

Vibram® Superwork is recommended for heavy construction, mining, off-shore drilling uses.

This exclusive VIBRAM® Fire&Ice compound has been studied for extreme applications and maintains its performance values in a wide range of temperatures (from – 20°C to + 250 °C).
The formulation satisfies both requirements for fire resistance from NFPA and the Ross cold flex at -23°C.
It can be used in any outdoor activity where fire resistance and high grip performance have to be maintained in very cold weather conditions.
Firefighters, military personnel, paramilitary personnel, and outdoor workers operating in northern countries are the candidates for this exceptional Vibram compound.

VIBRAM® ESR compound is a specific compound for work and safety soles when protection from electric shock is a requirement. VIBRAM® ESR compound offer secondary protection to the wearer when stepping onto a live current. While maintaining Vibram high level of performance in grip and durability, VIBRAM® ESR compounds satisfy ISO, CSA and ASTM ESR (EH) standards.

VIBRAM® ESR protection also meets additional tear strength resistance, oil resistance, hot contact resistance, and flexing resistance per ISO requirements. VIBRAM® ESR is recommended for industrial and utility service (especially to electricians).

VIBRAM® Gumlite’s slip resistance is good on flat and polished surfaces. This soft compound enhances secure walking and running and the sole has a large contact surface area.
Its lightness is significant for both shoes and boots, mainly in ascent walking where the shoe weight is determinant in energy cost terms.
The cushioning is enough for long walking and soft running activities, while its vibration absorbing properties allows use of this compound in snowboard and motorbike boots.

The Gumlite3D version combines lightness and performance. The compound is lighter than a rubber and more durable than expanded rubber.

Eco-friendly recycled rubber compound

Vibram has always researched new solutions that respect the environment. With this is mind, Vibram developed VIBRAM® Ecostep.
Developed for the soles of casual footwear, VIBRAM® Ecostep and VIBRAM® Ecostep+ are two innovative eco-compounds, capable of reducing waste and the use of virgin materials by up to 50%, while still offering the kind of high quality product for which Vibram is known.

The rubber scraps generated by our production process are recycled in order to produce the VIBRAM® Ecostep and VIBRAM® Ecostep+ compounds, and can also be used in other applications such as the bottom of motorways in order to lower the noise level or as playground surfacing to soften the impact of falls.
