Millet climbing shoes are suitable for all modern climbing disciplines because they are created with three fundamental concepts in mind– a symmetrical shape, a slender shape and superior materials with specific characteristics. On challenging routes and in traditional climbing races, these are the shoes that will make the difference when technical ability is the key to reaching the objective. To choose the right shoe, one must take various parameters into account. First, the shape of the foot: if the second toe is longer than the big toe (as on 50% of people), a symmetrical sole is preferable; if, however the big toe is longer than the second toe, an asymmetrical sole is recommended. Secondly, there is the shape of the shoe: better slender or flat? This depends on your level: the slender form increases the power of the foot, but requires more muscle strength; a flat form is more natural but is less effective in terms of power and grip, by virtue of a thinner edge. Finally, the material: Australian leather is very strong and stretches little; elastic leather has a reputation for being sturdy and durable, while the Chamude microfiber, a Millet exclusive, is light, breathable and stretches just enough.
