We asked Luca Di Biase, boulder expert and promoter of the Chironico Night Session, some questions about boulder by night.

Let’s start from the difference between boulder and climbing.
The boulder features the research for both technical and physical performance. By partially erasing the risks and consequent fear due to the highness which is typical of climbing, the athlete is able to concentrate the best on the correct execution of his movements.

And what makes the difference in night boulder?
The group spirit promoted by the darkness obstacles to be faced. Everyone is ready to encourage the climber and to protect him with his arms in case of fall. If I had to make a comparison, I would say that night boulder reminds of a bonfire between friends.

Do you usually use shoes powered by Vibram soles?
Of course I do. The versatility of Vibram soles allows me to climb on different rocky surfaces and in a number of temperatures.
